about

"Dance Like Nobody's Watching" is one of the first solo pieces I wrote on my Saraz C Minor 11 handpan. I finished writing this piece after attending PanOz 2016, Australia's first handpan gathering, where I learnt a bunch of new patterns and sounds (thanks to these incredible handpan players: David Kuckhermann, Adrian Portia & Jeremy Diffey).

The focus of the piece is to merge together my drum kit background and love of improvised music with my handpan playing, ultimately creating a piece that melds together groove, melody and improvisation. The title of the track simply relates to being yourself, embracing your strengths and having confidence in your abilities (although I'm a terrible dancer!).
